The Arts Library is equipped to support public viewing and listening of film and audio materials from our collections, including materials on reserve. This includes DVD (including BluRay), VHS, and audio CD. Screening of 16mm film, as well as use of Vinyl LPs and audiotapes, can be arranged by contacting the Arts Library staff at (858) 534-8074. All of our media stations can support up to four users. For larger groups we have Group Viewing & Listening Rooms available to book.
Viewing & Listening
The Arts Library service desk closes 15 minutes prior to the Geisel Library, and all listening equipment (headphones & remotes) must be returned by this time.
Group Viewing & Listening Room Guidelines
We have three group viewing & listening rooms for groups of 8 - 30 students. We can screen VHS, Blu Ray, DVDs & CDs, and with advance notice, LPs and cassette tapes. In consultation with the Film curator film prints may be screened in the Arts Library Seminar Room.
If the film to be screened is on course reserve or owned by the Arts Library, our staff will have the item available before your screening. It is important that we have advance knowledge of the screening in order to assure that the film is available and in the library. If you are providing the film to be screened, please make sure that our staff is aware of this at the time you schedule your screening.
