 Driving From San Diego
The black X marks Scripps Library's location. Take Interstate 5 north to La Jolla Parkway exiting east on La Jolla Parkway. Turn right on La Jolla Shores Drive at the bottom of the hill. Go one mile to El Paseo Grande, and turn left and then right on Charles Kennel Way; you can park at the metered spaces there. You can park for free along La Jolla Shores Drive but watch out for a time limit on parking. Best is further south of Scripps along those residential streets that have no parking limits; it's a short walk. The closest no-limit street parking is just below Scripps; turn inland up Calle Corta, and park along Avenida de los Ondas. Don't leave valuables in sight inside your car.
Driving From Los Angeles
The black X marks Scripps Library's location. Take Interstate 5 south to Genessee Ave. Go west on Genessee approx 0.5 miles to North Torrey Pines Road. Turn left (south) on N. Torrey Pines and go 1.0 miles to La Jolla Shores Drive. Turn right (west) on LJ Shores and go down the hill about 1.0 miles to Scripps. Turn right on El Paseo Grande and then right again on Charles Kennel Way; you can park at the metered spaces there. You can park for free along La Jolla Shores Drive but watch out for a time limit on parking. Best is further south of Scripps along those residential streets that have no parking limits; it's a short walk. Parking for UCSD Permit Holders
With a valid UCSD parking permit you can park in lot P014, at La Jolla Shores and Downwind Way, and use the pedestrian overpass to cross La Jolla Shores, then walk down the hill and the library will be on your left. The black X in the map above marks Scripps Library's location. You can also park in lot P016, further up the hill on La Jolla Shores.
