Printing from Library Computers

Black & White networked printers are located in each library.  Color printers are available at the Geisel and Biomedical Libraries.  To print, you will need money in a printing account or be authorized to use a budget number card.  See Accounts section below for details.   UCSD printing is 10c/page for black and white, 50c/page for color.  Rates are doubled for non-UCSD users. 

Wireless printing to library printers is currently unavailable but should be available again soon.

Printing from ACS Computer Labs in the Libraries

In order to use ACS laser printers in the Computer Labs at S&E and the Geisel Tunnel, you'll first need to setup a UCSD student "laser printing account" online. For more information and to set up your account, see ACS's printing page. Lab printing is currently 5c/page for black and white, and 20c/page for color.  (Please note: the ACS computers at the Biomedical Library use Library printers as described above, not ACS printing)

Wireless printing to ACS labs is available if you already have an account, but requires you to first authorize your computer to send jobs to ACS printers.

Copying

Self service black & white photocopy machines are located throughout the libraries. To copy, you will need money in a printing account or be authorized to use a budget number card.  See Accounts section below for details.   UCSD printing is 10c/page for single-sided letter size, 20c/page for 11x17" size.  Rates are doubled for non-UCSD account users.  Note: the library does not have color photocopiers.  We do have scanners at some locations - if you need a color reproduction of something from our collections, please ask staff for assistance.

Printing/Copying Accounts

IACCESS printing/copying accounts are required for all self-service library printers and copiers.

• Current UCSD students, faculty, staff, affiliates: Use your UCSD ID card to access your account. 
• Non-UCSD users: purchase a Guest card from any IACCESS Loader device in the libraries or directly from Imprints (UCSD's copier service located in the east wing on the main level of the Geisel Library building).
• To add money to your UCSD or guest account, use an IACCESS Loader, located throughout the libraries.
• To move money from your old Imprints debit cards to your UCSD accounts, use a Transfer station, located throughout the libraries.
