Solana Beach

Solana Beach is a small upscale beach community with approximately 13,000 residents.  It has 1.7 miles of beautiful jagged coastline and cliffs that encroachupon the water’s edge.  Access to the beach is made possible through the assistance of man-made staircases.  In addition to beautiful beaches, the city contains lovely parks and hiking trails, fine restaurants, charming boutiques, and an 18-hole golf course.  The city features a design district located on Cedros Avenue, which contains 85 unique shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants. The district is home to renowned architects, builders, designers and interior decorators.  Many artists, along with the Public Arts Advisory Committee, advise the city on ways to enhance public spaces and contribute to the uniqueness of Solana Beach.

The estimated median household income for Solana Beach is greatly higher than the state average.  Home prices in 2008 were more than twice the state average.  The city is less ethnically diverse than the rest of the county.
