According to its Chamber of Commerce, Vista was voted #7 of the 50 best cities in the nation in the recent book, 50 Fabulous Places to Raise Your Family.  Vista offers beautiful parks and a variety of entertainment options such as the The Wave Waterpark, the Moonlight Amphitheater, Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum and a Farmer’s Market. Vista has six times the national average of community parks located within its borders including theaters, museums, recreations centers, picnic areas, athletic fields and parks.

The 2010 census estimates the population to be just under 100,000 residents, an increase of approximately 9 percent over 2000.  The median household income and home value was slightly below the state average in 2008.
