Mira Mesa

As a community of approximately 80,000 residents, Mira Mesa is a diverse setting. It consists of residential homes in close proximity to large shopping areas. On the west end lays a business and technology park, commonly referred to as Sorrento Valley, which is a major employment area for San Diego. Mira Mesa is also home to Miramar Community College and near the Miramar Marine Corp Air Station. Consequently, the area is comprised of hi-tech employees, students, young families and single people alike. With a high concentration of Asian-Americans, the area also offers a variety of Philippine, Vietnamese and Indian grocery stores and restaurants. Recreationally, the nearby Miramar Lake offers fishing and boating opportunities. The median household income and home value is slightly higher than the state average.

  • Generally, staff members residing in Mira Mesa are happy with the community and the amenities that the community offers. One of the highest ratings received by staff was for the variety of good restaurants. Also highly cherished by Mira Mesa residents are the availability of free parking and its access to grocery stores and pharmacies. Most residents indicated that this is a family-friendly community. Staff, however, is not happy with traffic, as well as access to public transportation.
