Clairemont Mesa is primarily known for families and retirees. Homes in Clairemont Mesa were built mostly in the 1950s and feature large rooms, windows, fireplaces and wood paneling. This community is conveniently located to State Route 52, Route 163, Interstate 5 and Interstate 805.

• Staff reported they like the ease and convenience of living in Clairemont Mesa.  It’s close to shopping areas, grocery stores and pharmacies.  Its central location makes it easy to get to the UCSD campus as well as other parts of the city.  It’s a very family oriented community with affordable housing and quiet neighborhoods. 
• Staff have mixed reviews of the schools in this area and feel the neighborhood is lacking in nightlife, entertainment, and culture. They would also like to see more local restaurants.
