Ocean Beach

Very much a surfing community, “OB,” as it is affectionately called by locals, is an interesting mix of surfers, hippies, families and people who live in less traditional homes like vans.  Newport Avenue has character with many surf shops and eateries.  The Ocean Beach Pier is a prominent landmark.  In the southern part of the community, expensive cliff-side homes can be found along Sunset Cliffs Boulevard and Point Loma Nazarene College.  Famous surf spots along Sunset Cliffs Park, include "Abs," "South Garbage," and "Newbreak."
