El Cajon

The population of El Cajon is approximately 93,000.  El Cajon is home to one of the few indoor shopping malls in the county, Parkway Plaza.  El Cajon is also home to a championship golf course, Cottonwood Golf Club. The city also houses many sports fields and parks.

Arts and Culture in El Cajon?  According to the Downtown El Cajon Website:

  • For the most part, residents seem to be happy with El Cajon, with ratings much better than average in many criteria.  Residents rated access to shopping, family friendly environment, friendliness of neighbors, and diversity of the residents, particularly high.
  • The respondents felt that poor beach access, lower than average “pet friendliness”, and quality of nightlife, were all drawbacks to living in the area.
  • All survey respondents indicated that they are unhappy with the commute to UCSD.
