Santee
Santee has a population of about 53,000 residents. The San Diego Trolley has its eastern terminus in the Town Center which is located in the Santee Trolley Square shopping center. Santee Trolley Square offers a variety of events that include live performances and activities in and around its outdoor amphitheatre. Santee has two major regional parks, Santee Lakes and Mission Trails Regional Park. Santee Lakes consists of seven public lakes and has a campground and other amenities. Paddleboats and fishing boats can be rented. Santee is also home to a popular Southern California rock climbing area.
With approximately half of its land undeveloped, Santee still has space to grow. The undeveloped northern portion of Santee, an area known as Fanita Ranch, is a 2600-acre site which will be a master-planned community providing high quality recreation and residential living. Santee offers many housing options from older houses, to new houses, condos and apartments, to mobile home parks. For the most part, the housing dollar will go further in Santee than in most San Diego communities.
