South Bay
South Bay represents an area of San Diego, as well as a number of independent cities. The southern end of San Diego Bay influences life here, with recreation and nature close by. It is the part of San Diego County that is closest to the Mexican Border and characterized by industrial and commercial areas. Shipping and a Navy base keep the bay quite busy, side-by-side with recreational users. The population is culturally and ethnically diverse.
