Have you thought about using Wikipedia in the classroom? Utilizing Wikipedia can help to increase students’ information literacy, enable them to become critical thinkers and producers of knowledge, and provides an opportunity for them to contribute their work in a space beyond the classroom. It also engages them in the editorial process and allows for a collaborative experience.
Join LiAnna Davis (Director of Programs, Wiki Education Foundation) and Jami Mathewson (Educational Partnerships Manager, Wiki Education Foundation) in a workshop on the many options for critically engaging Wikipedia as a classroom assignment.
