I love the 24 hours of floors one and two and I love studying on the 6th floor and looking out the windows. But finally the best thing about the library is the access they give us to all the databases, definitely a lifesaver for all my research papers!

The thing I love most about Geisel library are the tiers of study environments. If I’m working on a group project or I want some noise to keep awake, I tend to study on the lower floors. If I want to buckle down, relax, and find some concentration me time, I find myself studying on the 8th floor (the quietest floor). Finally, if I want to find a place to procrastinate with friends, I can reserve one of the many study rooms available on the upper levels. We can doodle all we want on those white boards, but most importantly, we can league all we want with the super fast internet access.

As much of an icon Geisel Library is just by itself, I think the best part about Geisel is the helpful, constantly-working, and kind staff from the front table check-ins to the student workers in the various departments to the awesome maintenance members. Working with and for students must be difficult at times, but YOU all are appreciated and contribute greatly to my positive library experience :)

I like the puzzles they have out for study breaks on the 2nd floor. Also, I enjoy napping on the 2nd floor as well since it’s never too cold and has comfortable sofa chairs to sleep on in the morning.

I think our Special Collections is pretty cool and I love seeing original drafts and pieces of authors as they are putting together their works. It’s interesting because you’re seeing their thought processes and different notes on their works.

What I like about Geisel Library is that it’s like a home away from home for all of UCSD, it’s a great place to study with friends, and it’s such a huge resource for researching information.

My favorite part of the library is the study rooms themselves…And here is why…

Those rooms were not merely study spaces over the last three long years I have been at this school after transferring…
Those rooms were where friendships were born, raised, nurtured, and brought to full and glorious life…
As my time at UCSD almost comes to a close… I will look into those study rooms… and I will see the same fear that would take the heart of me… when the walls of books come crashing down and the minds of students fails… but it is not this day… today we stand and we conquer… STUDENTS OF UCSD!!
FOR GRADUATION AND ALL FREE PPEOPLE OF MIDDLE CAMPUS!!!

Not only does Geisel give me a space to sit down and focus on my work (which I hardly accomplish in my room) it also provides a variety of settings to accommodate different students with different study habits. If I am not super busy I can head down to first floor and chat with friends about a class, but if I am on a serious study grind (like this week) I can go to 6th floor and enjoy the peace and quiet, with one of the best views on campus! I love people watching in Warren while seeing the awesome artwork including Falling Star and the Snake Path. It is relaxing but also
really promotes learning.
