Mary Wickline has been a tremendous resource for the Medical Center, particularly for nurses. She has been exemplary in guiding staff through oft-perceived daunting tasks that are necessary steps involved in nursing research. I am quite concerned about the fate of the Medical Center's Magnet Journey with the loss of Mary's dedication and calm guidance, especially about the impact this loss will have on nursing research and quality. I understand that there may be the need to close the library, however if there is a way to maintain Mary's position on the Hillcrest campus in some capacity, I believe that this will best serve the mission of UCSD.
