Books from AGU now Online

With our recent UC-wide purchase, UCSD students and researchers may now read titles in the American Geophysical Union’s e-book collection.  There are more than 400 books from 1968-2012, including books from 17 series such as the Antarctic Research Series , Field Trip Guidebooks,  and Geophysical Monograph Series.

AGU publishes books covering a wide range of subject including coastal studies, climate change, water issues and geodynamics.  Some more recent titles include:

Navigating Graduate School and Beyond: A Career Guide for Graduate Students and a Must Read for Every Advisor

The Stratosphere: Dynamics, Transport, and Chemistry

Monitoring and Modeling the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill: A Record-Breaking Enterprise

Abrupt Climate Change: Mechanisms, Patterns, and Impacts

The books have been individually cataloged, so you may use the UCSD catalog to search for titles of interest along with our other print and e-books.

Some older titles of interest are:

Foundations for Ecological Research West of the Antarctic Peninsula   and   The Subseafloor Biosphere at Mid-Ocean Ridges

If you see other e-books the UCSD Libraries should purchase, let us know by filling out this purchase request form or email/phone Dave, Deborah or Teri, your S&E engineering and physical science librarian specialists, and Peter Brueggeman for SIO related materials.
