Dr. Agarwal will describe the “Energy Dashboard” which he and his colleagues have developed to monitor energy usage across over 500 UCSD buildings, He’ll discuss their findings regarding the three primary sources of energy usage (IT loads, HVAC systems, and plug loads), and inventive systems to manage energy consumption.
Yuvraj Agarwal is a Research Scientist in the department of Computer Science and Engineering at UC San Diego. He is the Director of the SYNERGY — Systems, Networking and Energy Efficiency — Lab at UC San Diego. He is also the Executive Director of the new NSF Expeditions Center in Variability. He completed his Ph.D. in September 2009 at UC San Diego, doing research in the area of power and energy management.
