Travel and Accommodations
We will be working with the Del Mar Inn, in the nearby, coastal community of Del Mar: http://www.delmarinn.com.
Rooms (singles-triples) will likely cost somewhere between 139.99 and 199.99 per night and will include free wifi, shuttles to and from campus, and access to a café.
We are exploring various options for lodging near the UCSD campus. Please check the website for updates on options for lodging and transportation.
We will charge a registration fee of $50 for faculty and will offer the possibility of pre-paying for breakfast and lunch. Additional options will be available for a la carte breakfast and lunch. Dinner will be on your own, but the conference will include at least one and possibly two receptions with heavy hors d’oeuvres.
Nearby airports include:
- Tijuana (which has recently completed the Cross Border Xpress Bridge, allowing easy and fast border-crossing into the United States). Parking and taxis on the US side of the border is within reach literally 5-10 minutes after retrieving your luggage: https://www.crossborderxpress.com/node/1. However, due to the distance between the border and del Mar, the conference will try to coordinate pick-up of Mexican participants arriving in Tijuana.
- San Diego-Lindbergh Field Airport offers shuttles and taxis.
- John Wayne International in Santa Ana County, CA, is a bit further away and would require a more expensive taxi ride or renting a car, but may be more convenient depending on your travel plans.
