These collections are for growing areas of study on the UC San Diego campus in which additional support is needed to strengthen subject holdings. Research material for the new Rady School of Management is an example of a collection that is being formed around a new campus curriculum.
- The Rady School of Management: As one of the newest professional schools on campus, the Rady School graduated its first MBA class in September 2006, and opened its undergraduate curriculum in the fall of 2008. This emergent program makes it necessary to expand research and curriculum materials in business, finance, and management.
- The Nanosciences: The campus has established a Department of NanoEngineering that focuses exclusively on this emerging area of research. The Library needs to bolster its science and engineering collections in order to support this new academic emphasis.
