Search Roger with the Audio scope to find CDs, LPs, and audio tapes in our collection. Using this Audio limit will exclude scores and other formats from your search result. Roger also links to CD titles from the Naxos Music Library and DRAM databases noted below.

The CDs, LPs, and tapes are available for listening with playback equipment in the Arts Library Services Room.

Audio Online Collections

Below are streaming audio subscription collections available to UCSD, on campus or by remote access.

  • American Song [UCSD Only]
    A growing database that will contain 50,000 tracks of music from America's past. Included in the database are the songs of Civil Rights, political campaigns, Prohibition, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, anti-war protests and more.

  • Classical Music Library [UCSD Only]
    Over 52,000 audio tracks of classical music from the Medieval to the contemporary, with chamber music, symphonies, choral music, solo vocal and instrumental, and other forms.

  • Contemporary World Music [UCSD Only]
    A large database that includes reggae, acoustic folk, Afro-Cuban, belly dance, banda, dub, drinking songs, hip-hop, Italian folk, Indian classical, world beat, and other genres.

  • Database of Recorded American Music (DRAM) [UCSD Only]
    A wide spectrum of American (USA) music, from 19th century to contemporary compositions, electronic music, folk, jazz, Native American music, opera and musical theater. The audio tracks are linked to related scholarly texts.

  • Jazz Music Library  [UCSD Only]
    The largest streaming audio database for jazz, growing regularly. Over 131,000 tracks from a wide variety of genres and labels. Newly added artists include Django Rheinhardt, Mary Lou Williams, Chucho Valdés, and Rossana Casale.

  • Naxos Jazz [UCSD Only]
    Thousands of tracks that span the history of jazz and include blues, R&B, and more. Many of the tracks are from albums released by the Fantasy label based on the West coast in addition to hundreds of other labels. Among the jazz legends represented are Ella Fitzgerald, Charles Mingus, the Modern Jazz Quartet, and Thelonious Monk.

  • Naxos Music Library [UCSD Only]
    Primarily classical music, now over one million tracks often with texts about the music. Includes recordings from large labels such as Naxos and Teldec and hundreds of smaller labels. New titles are added monthly. 

  • Smithsonian Global Sound for Libraries [UCSD Only]
    Audio tracks and related texts documenting the world's musical traditions, also spoken word recordings such as political speeches, as well as nature sounds. The music ranges from remote cultures worldwide to famous folk musicians. Over 35,000 tracks.
