Film & Video Collection Profile

Collection Statement

The Film & Video Collection supports the instruction and research needs of UCSD faculty and students. It consists of authoritative documentaries and feature films representing all periods, languages, and countries, as well as experimental films and the Factual Film Archive. Collections of note include, but are not limited to: Chinese Underground Films, Melanesian Ethnographic Films, Latin American Cinema, and American Experimental Film & Video. The Factual Film Archive contains 16mm prints of instructional, educational, training, home movies, actuality, and amateur films from the 1930's to the 1980's.

Circulation Policy

The collection is for classroom instruction or for study only. On-site viewing is available. Circulation of the DVD and video collection is restricted to current UCSD faculty, and graduate students. Materials such as film prints, out-of-print titles, and selected other Film & Video titles do not circulate.
