The UCSD Arts Library's Digital Images Collection is a unique resource which serves the entire campus and is strong in world images relating to the Humanities. The collection, which began in the 1970's as the Library Slide Collection, now contains over 260,000 digital images and is part of the University of California's growing digital collections available through the ARTstor Digital Library.

More than 3,000 images in Oxford Art articles with links to Art Resource (90,000 images).
Library of Congress American Memory Collection
9 million digital items (documents, photographs, maps, films, and audio recordings) from more than 100 collections.
Los Angeles Public Library Photo Collection
A collection of 30,000 digitized images from books, magazines and newspapers as well as original photographs, prints and postcards mostly pre-1923.
Wikipedia Commons
A database of media files containing images, sounds, and video.
