Arts Library Digital Image Collection

The UCSD Arts Library's Digital Images Collection is a unique resource which serves the entire campus and is strong in world images relating to the Humanities. The collection, which began in the 1970's as the Library Slide Collection, now contains over 260,000 digital images and is part of the University of California's growing digital collections available through the ARTstor Digital Library.

ARTstor's collection contains over one million images. ARTstor offers high resolution images for use in ARTstor's Offline Viewer and medium sized images for export to additional presentation tools such as PowerPoint. Images from the University of California Shared Collections are available in ARTstor to all 9 ARTstor-participating UC campuses. The collections are listed on the ARTstor home page Institutional Collections.

ARTstor offers multiple Guides and Tutorials which include several training options, from online documentation to YouTube videos.

AP Multimedia Archive

The AP Multimedia Archive contains over two million photographs dating back to 1826, more than one million audio sound bytes dating from the 1920's, two million Associated Press news stories from 1997, and a professionally produced collection of more than 45,000 maps, graphs, charts, logos, flags, illustrations. It is updated with more than 3,000 photos a day.

Grove Art Online combines the contents of four resources: Grove Art Online, The Oxford Companion to Western Art, the Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, and the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms. It now includes more than 5,000 images in the articles, and links to the online collections of ARTstor, Art Resource (90,000 images), Bridgeman Art Library (over 100,000 images), and various museums and galleries (over 40,000 images).
