Departmental Liaisons at BML

The library has designated a librarian to be responsible for many of the departments and units on campus. What can Biomedical Library liaisons do?

• Keep you up to date about new library resources, services, and other developments.
• Provide customized instruction (e.g., PubMed, BIOSIS, PsycINFO, Web of Science, EndNote and RefWorks) for individuals or groups, in your department or at the library.
• Give demonstrations of new resources and explanations of new and existing services at faculty meetings, staff meetings, and other departmental groups.
• Integrate an information competency lecture and/or assignment into the courses you teach, provide links from your course page to relevant library resources, etc.
• Perform specialized searches of the literature for you to supplement your own searching. This is particularly useful for comprehensive searches for reviews, books, dissertations, etc.
• Answer specific reference questions and refer you to other library staff when indicated.
