Information for a Course
The Biomedical Library provides materials for specific UCSD courses:
- Reserves both print and online,
- Research guides tailored for specific courses.
Reserves include textbooks, articles and other material needed for a specific course. Materials are placed on reserve at the request of the course instructor(s) only. We offer both print textbook reserves as well as e-reserves for online materials.
- Students: go to http://reserves.ucsd.edu and search by professor or department. For off-campus users: you must be connected to the UCSD network to use the reserves site.
- Faculty: to place items on reserve, use the form located at http://libraries.ucsd.edu/services/reserves-form.html. BML provides reserves for courses in the School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, and upper-division Biological Sciences courses.
Research Guides for Specific courses
BML librarians work with faculty in a small but growing number of courses to create custom research guides tailored to the research assignments within that course. Here's where you’ll find these:
If we haven't worked on a guide for your specific course, we do also offer more generic subject oriented guides
. These can be especially helpful in identifying the key databases to use when searching for articles in that area.
