PLUS Remote Access

Most of UCSD's databases and electronic journals require that remote access be provided only to current UCSD or UC faculty, staff, and students. Members of the public can use most of these resources at computers in the Libraries according to the Conditions of Use for Electronic Resources, but off-campus users must be authenticated so that only currently affiliated people are given access to them.

UCSD faculty, staff, and students who wish to access these resources from off-campus should see instructions elsewhere on our website.

Selected Free Resources:

• PubMed: searching is free. Some content is free via PubMed Central
• Clinical resources via the Medical Center Library's "Online Clinical Library II"
• Roger (UCSD Libraries) and Melvyl (All UC campuses) library catalogs

Other Sources for Licensed Electronic Resources:

• UCSD Alumni Association Members have access to the ProQuest Research Library as part of a pilot project through June 2008. This includes more than 2000 full text journals and magazines.
• The San Diego Public Library offers online access to a number of databases and full text resources to card holders at no charge.
