Information Commons Policies

Use of computers

  • You must have a valid Active Directory (AD) accounts and password.

  • Guest Accounts are available for current UC faculty, staff, and students (with ID) who don't have AD accounts.

  • When taking a break, don't be away from your workstation for longer than 15 minutes.

  • You must use your own storage media - files are not kept on the computers after a reset.

  • You need to have a basic knowledge of computer usage.

  • You may never shut the computer down.

  • You may not load any software on a Commons computer.

 

Food and Drink

Snack food and covered beverages are permitted in library. Hot food and meals, however, are not. Please do not eat or drink directly above the computer keyboards. If you spill something please report it to staff right away.  See the libraries' food and drink policy for more details.

Noise

The Commons is an active-use area.  Talking in a normal tone of voice is permitted in the Commons, except during finals. Please take phone conversations outside.
