Computer Science

Collection Statement

The purpose of the Computer Science collection is to support the research interests and instructional activities of faculty and students in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at UCSD and secondarily, to supplement the computational needs of all UCSD students and researchers. Strengths of the collection include combinatorics & algorithms, parallel, grid and super-computing. In recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on collecting materials to support bioinformatics; the S&E Library collects materials on computational, engineering and mathematical aspects, such as data mining, while the Biomedical Library collections materials focusing on the medical, biological & biochemical aspects of this emerging area.

Primary Library of Congress Call Numbers

Note: Under the Library of Congress classification system (used at UCSD), computer science materials are generally found in the QA 75-76’s but occasionally are found in other areas (Q, T385, TK5000, ZA). For specific call numbers, please check the online catalogs (Roger and/or Melvyl).
