The S&E Library Reference librarians are available weekdays from 10am - 5pm (and sometimes evenings/weekends via e-mail), but we have staff available to help you get started on your research anytime the library is open. The UC-wide chat reference service is also available evenings and Sundays. 

Here are the many ways you can reach us!  If you want to contact (phone, e-mail, IM) the librarian for your subject area, check our staff directory.  And don't forget, you can also stop by the service desk for assistance.

		By Phone: 858-534-3258 This is the quickest way to speak to a reference librarian during library open hours. Weekdays, 10am - 5pm
		By Instant Message Click the box on the right to start a session with us, weekdays 10am - 5pm.  We also have accounts on AIM and Yahoo Messenger (ucsdscieng). If we're not available and you do leave us an e-mail, don't forget to include your e-mail address.
		By E-Mail Form We pick up questions on weekdays, 10am - 5pm.
		By Live Chat, 24/7 Available round-the-clock! Real-time, chat reference service is provided by reference staff from various academic libraries, including S&E reference staff.
