Online Search Request

Don't have time to do your own searching? Librarians at the Science & Engineering Library will do searches of online databases, such as INSPEC, Web of Science, and other databases hosted by the California Digital Library (formerly MELVYL) or licensed locally at UCSD, including Science Citation Index®, Scifinder (Chemical Abstracts), Compendex, and MathSciNet. In addition, we have access to hundreds of specialized databases that can be searched on a per-project basis. Topics may range from aerospace to rubbers and plastics. Searches are done for UCSD faculty. Other users please send online search requests to the PLUS Information Service, the UCSD Libraries' fee-based research and document delivery service for unaffiliated and corporate users.

Note: Search fees apply to S&E searches in the following circumstances:

• Searches in some commercial databases
• Searches requiring very long printouts
