Feeds for Article Database Searches

To keep track of new articles, these databases allow you to create feeds based on your searches.  Some databases require you to create an account or profile with a username and password if you want to save searches as RSS feeds.

Account/Profile Required for:

Account/Profile NOT Required for:

To create the feed:

  1. Run your search in the database
  2. Create/save the RSS feed for the search (steps will vary depending on database)
  3. Add the feed to your RSS reader
  4. When new citations that match your search are added to the database, the citation and link to the full database record will show up in your reader.

Most of these databases are licensed by UCSD. Faculty, staff and students will need to enable the web proxy on their computers to link out from the RSS reader to the full citation/abstract records off-campus.

RSS Feeds from the arXiv e-Print Archive
These are daily feeds of new articles added to the various collections in arXiv. All of the feeds begin with http://arXiv.org/rss/____. You add the archive name, which are listed on the main arXiv page. For example, the feed for Condensed Matter is http://arXiv.org/rss/cond-mat. The feed for Algebraic Geometry (a subset of Math) is http://arXiv.org/rss/math.AG. Add the desired feeds to your reader. You may need to edit the name of the feed for clarity.
