Scripps Institution of Oceanography Library Consolidation & Closure Information

The Scripps Institution of Oceanography Library building, on the SIO campus, closed on June 29, 2012. As a result, the Scripps Library book/journal collections have been consolidated into the Geisel Library.  Scripps Archives and special collections from Scripps Library, will remain on the third floor of the Eckart Building; use of those collections is by appointment only.

Though Scripps Institution of Oceanography loses a library facility on campus, the UC San Diego Library remains committed to supporting Scripps faculty, staff and students, and continues to develop electronic and print collections to support the Institution’s academic mission.  Research and curriculum support services also continue to be available, by appointment.  Please see information and contacts listed below.
