Art and Architecture collections in the Arts Library are developed to meet ongoing research and instructional needs, primarily in support of the Visual Arts department and programs within the Arts and Humanities division. The collections also support academic departments with interdisciplinary courses including Literature, History, Music, Theater, and Film, Ethnic, and Urban Studies. The most relevant published books, exhibition catalogs, journals, electronic resources and media are collected. The strength and ongoing collection emphasis is in the areas of Modern and Contemporary art.
While the collection is predominantly in the N and TR classifications, print materials supporting art and architecture are found in a wide variety of classifications. For specific call numbers, please check the online catalogs, Roger for UCSD holdings and/or Melvyl for UC-wide holdings.
