Library specialists for the social sciences and humanities continue to put together collections of featured resources in the subject collections for which they are responsible.
The Latin American Studies Librarian has developed two large collections: (1) a guide to Feature Films and Documentaries from and about countries in Central and South America, and Spain, housed in the Arts Library; and (2) documents on Latin American Election Statistics from selected Latin American countries, including chronologies of elections since independence at the municipal, state, and federal levels and list sources of statistics for each election as identified.
The Curator for the Melanesian Studies Resource Center provides an overview and detailed guides to materials at the UCSD Library, both published and unpublished, pertinent to the study of Melanesia, with a special emphasis on primary source materials: anthropologists' field notes, government patrol reports, microfilms of mission records, firsthand accounts of travelers, and newspapers from the region, etc.
The Political Science Librarian maintains the Worldwide Elections Guide, a website organizing links to web and print resources in local, state, federal, U.S. Presidential, and world elections.
The Judaic Studies Librarian has prepared a portal to the USC Shoah Foundation Institute's Visual History Archive, a major new resource of digitized oral history interviews with nearly 52,000 survivors and other witnesses of the Holocaust.
As more of these special resources are developed, they will be added to this collection.
