CAIS Software Solutions

History

CAIS Software was a developer and provider of Internet software for wireless networking services for hotels, apartments and small businesses. CAIS Software Solutions was formerly a subsidiary of Ardent Communications Inc. Their installations included airports, convention centers, cruise ships, cafes and other public areas throughout the country and around the world. Successful deployments include the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, the Seattle-Tacoma Airport, Mail Boxes Etc. and Circadia café. CAIS software was founded in 1979. CAIS acquired major Internet provider ATCOM in 1999 and became CAIS Software Solutions. Their IPORT division was acquired by Cisco systems on October 20, 2000. The remaining assets of the company, including the CyberShell division, were sold on May 15, 2002 to Cisco.
