Martha Dennis

Biography

Dr. Martha G. Dennis was a Venture Partner at Windward Ventures and Windward Ventures 2000. Prior to joining Windward Ventures in 2001, Dr. Dennis served as the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Co-Founder of WaveWare Communications. During her 35-year career, she has been a telecommunications technologist and entrepreneur as well as a venture capitalist. From 1987 to 1997, she was Co-Founder and Vice President of Engineering of Pacific Communications Sciences, a San Diego based developer of wireless communications equipment. She serves as a Director of Space Micro, Inc. Dr. Dennis is Member of the Advisory board of the San Diego Telecom Council, Chair of the San Diego Science and Technology Commission and Vice President of the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. She was President of the Boards of the Bishop's School and UCSD Athena. She is the Chairman of Netsapiens Inc. She is a Trustee of Harvey Mudd College. She serves on the boards of the San Diego Foundation, and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and on the advisory boards of the UCSD Rady School of Management, the SDSU College of Engineering, and the Smith College Picker Engineering Program. She serves on the Dean's Advisory Council of The Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego. She was also a member of the founding Executive Council of the UCSD Center for Wireless Communication. She won the 2003 Pinnacle Award for Technology. Dr. Dennis holds a doctorate in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University and a B.S. from Smith College.
