ISI Instructions


Step 1: Import or Directly Export Citations from ISI Web of Science Databases

  1. Perform a search in any ISI Web of Science database.
  2. To mark individual citations for downloading, click the box ( ) next to a record to select it.  Then select the Submits Marks button at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the Marked List button located at the top of the screen.
  4. If you have EndNote 4 or above and are currently at the machine where you have the EndNote program loaded, select Export to Reference Software button.  Otherwise, continue to step 5.
  5. Select the Save to File button to save as a text file.  Make sure the Field Tagged format is selected.
  6. A “File download” box will pop-up – choose Save. 
  7. Type in a file name in the Save As… box; and note the Save in destination, e.g. Desktop, A:, etc.
