Step
1: Import or Directly Export Citations from OCLC First Search.
- Perform
a search in WorldCat.
- To mark individual citations for downloading, click
the box (
)
next to a record number to select it.
- Click Export button
at top of screen.
- Select records you want to export (records 1-10 or
marked records).
- Under “Export to,” choose EndNote if you have
EndNote 4 or above and are currently at the machine where you have
the EndNote program loaded. Otherwise, continue to step 9.
- Click on the Export button.
- EndNote will automatically open an prompt you to select
a library where these references will be stored.
- You will then be prompted to select an import filter.
Choose the OCLC filter.
- If you choose to save the records in a text
file to import later, under “Export to,” choose Text File.
- Click on the Export button.
- A “File downlownd” box will pop-up – choose Save.

Type in a file name in the Save As… box; and note the
Save in destination, e.g. Desktop, A:, etc.
