Step 1: Import Citations from a Database
- Perform
a search in a database.
- To mark individual citations for downloading, click
the box (
)
next to a record to select it.
- Select
the Export, Save, or Email option to save marked records as
a text file.
Step
2: Importing Citations from a text file into EndNote
- Open
an EndNote library or create a new one to store the records.
- From
the File menu, select Import… to open the Import window.
- In the Import Data File: field, select the text file you downloaded
by clicking on Choose File.
- In the Import Option field, select the database filter you need
to import your citations. To find the appropriate filter for a database,
select Other Filters from the pull down menu, then select the file
with the name of the database and database vendor that you searched. For
example, if you downloaded your data from CSA PsycINFO, you would
select PsycINFO (CSA) as the filter. NOTE: if you do not find a filter for
the specific database you downloaded citations from, click
here to locate and download the appropriate database filter to
add to your EndNote program.
- Under Duplicates,
please select what you would like EndNote to do with any duplicate
records found then click on Import.
