General Policy

UCSD's Interlibrary Loan Department is comprised of seven different units that provide access to the collections of the UCSD Libraries through the loan of original materials and the provision of photocopies. Loans and copies are provided to other libraries according the national and international interlibrary codes. Requests for loan or copies by non-libraries must be made to the PLUS Information Service.

Submitting Requests

OCLC and/or Docline is the preferred method for sending requests. If you do not have access to OCLC or Docline, complete an ALA form and submit the form via email, ARIEL, FAX, mail to the UCSD Library that owns the item. If you are uncertain which branch library owns the item, please check ROGER, UCSD's online catalog.

Fees

Fees vary among the interlibrary loan units, but in general loans are $11.00 for libraries or institutions within the state of California; $20.00 for loans to libraries outside the state of California; $20.00 to $40.00 for loans outside the United States.
