Special Event: Poet Nathaniel Mackey will receive UCSD's Roy Harvey Pearce/Archive for New Poetry Prize UCSD's Roy Harvey Pearce/Archive for New Poetry Prize is awarded biennially to an American poet-scholar who has made significant contributions to American letters. Mackey won the National Book Award in poetry for his most recent book, SPLAY ANTHEM (2006). He edits the magazine HAMBONE, is a Professor of Literature at UC-Santa Cruz, and is currently a Chancellor of The Academy of American Poets.
