Clarification about the Group Study room transition

Background:  Four of the Biomedical Library’s group study rooms will be temporarily occupied by members of the School of Pharmacy bioinformatics group, starting January 2010.  This is the result of a lengthy negotiation between the Division of Health Sciences and the UCSD Libraries.  Please be assured that the Libraries did not come to this decision for financial reasons, but, rather, in order to help our Health Sciences colleagues alleviate a very serious space situation they are facing.   More information about the decision can be found in this letter from University Librarian Brian E.C. Schottlaender. (PDF)

The Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences and the Dean of the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences have communicated with Health Sciences students via the Med-Ed Portal student site.
