Graduate Study open

The Biomedical Library’s Graduate Study is now open. This area provides space for UCSD graduate and professional students to study undisturbed after regular library hours. The space includes a Quiet Study zone. Access is provided by School of Medicine and School of Pharmacy building access cards. Other graduate students may request an access card at the Biomedical Library’s Circulation Desk.

The policies for using this room are below:

Eligible users:
– current UCSD graduate and professional students

Access:
– access is via proximity card readers which open the doors to the breezeway and the Graduate Study
– all School of Medicine and School of Pharmacy studentsÂ’ cards are pre-coded for room access
– other graduate students may obtain a card at the Biomedical Library Circulation Desk upon presentation of a valid UCSD identification card
– allow 24 hours for card issuance
– please return card upon graduation or leave-of-absence

Security:
– video cameras in this area provide a record of activity. Cameras may or may not be monitored
– students should use their own card to enter the breezeway and the Graduate Study
– notify the library immediately if your card is lost or stolen

Room use:
– the Graduate Study has four computer workstations with internet access and Microsoft application software for individual and group study
– the smaller (south) room is zoned for quiet use only
– no scheduled meetings, events or any other functions may be held in the Graduate Study

Food and Drink:
– the regular Biomedical Library food and drink policy applies to this area
– snack-sized food and drinks in covered containers are permitted
– all other food must be consumed offsite
– in compliance with California State Law, UCSD policy prohibits the consumption of alcohol

NOTICE: Failure to adhere to these policies may result in temporary or permanent loss of access to the Graduate Study.
