Description

Early founding documents, annual reports, and weekly e-newsletter produced by the Women's Center at UC San Diego. Founding documents include materials from the Chancellor's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (CWS) and the Women's Center Planning Committee; while the annual reports document the Center’s overall operations. The newsletter, called the Women’s Center Weekly, contains outreach, events, and updates from the center and its affiliates.

The UC San Diego Women’s Resource Center (WRC) originally started as a student organization, opening its doors on April 5, 1974. Students, faculty, and staff began advocating for the development of a Women’s Center at UC San Diego and an official center was approved in 1995. On October 14, 1996 the Women’s Center formally opened its doors. The center was established as a place for fostering awareness, education, and community. With this in mind, the Women’s Center supports various events, projects, and outreach materials.
