From April 1, 2015, the UC San Diego Library has arranged for a two-year trial period of over 26,000 videos available through Kanopy. The videos come from leading producers such as the BBC, California Newsreel, Criterion Collection, First Run Features, Kino Lorber and PBS, with more content added each year. Many of the films are from independent and specialty producers, with a focus on documentary films. Use is limited to currently enrolled UCSD students, employees, and faculty, staff. Faculty may screen these films in the classroom and they may also be used across campus to non-paying audiences, such as organizations and clubs, training, and in residence life.
