FAST AT FORTY ACRES – KOUNS & LEWIS 1968

This photo was taken during the latter days of the Fast for Nonviolence. Cesar Chavez is noticeably weaker and slumped much further in his chair as he sits throught the daily evening religious service.  His right hand assistant, the Rev. Jim Drake, is close by in the very left of the photo.
