Cesar Chavez And His  Farmworker Movement

Documentation Project

2012 marks the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the farmworker movement by Cesar Chavez in 1962, three years before the Delano Grape Strike in Delano CA.

In an effort to preserve this history, the Farmworker Movement Documentation Project will publish 25 unique chapters of documentation created by those who were part of the movement.  The deadline for submissions is March 15, 2012 two weeks prior to the “Cesar Chavez Day” California holiday.
