Father James Vizzard, a Jesuit priest, was the Executive Director of the Catholic Rural Life Conference headquartered in Washington D.C. Because of his support for the farmworker movement, he often visited the Delano Grape Strike and was instrumental in securing support from other Catholic groups. Here he participates in the Catholic Mass by reading from the New Testament.
