Primary Access Corporation develops and manufactures digital network-access systems. The company offers integrated remote access systems that are used by providers of data networks, including long-distance and local carriers, on-line information services, cellular carriers, transaction processors, and corporations. Six former Linkabit employees founded the company in 1988 in San Diego, CA. This included James W. Dunn and Joseph D. Markee. Markee went on to found Copper Mountain Networks Inc. and serve as President of the San Diego Telecom Council (recently renamed Commnexus). CEO William Stensrud led the successful acquisition of Primary Access Corporation by 3Com Corporation on June 9, 1995.
