Mr. Cohen received degrees in biology and chemistry from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Cohen began his career at Eli Lilly and Company in 1978, where, among many different responsibilities over ten years, he directed business planning for the Medical Instrument Systems Division (now known as Guidant Corporation) and managed the launch of Prozac. Subsequently, Mr. Cohen served as Vice President of Business Affairs at Argus Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Vice President of Marketing and Business development for LifeCell Corporation, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Canji Incorporated, and President and Chief Executive Officer of Synbiotics Corporation. In August 2003, Mr. Cohen co-founded Somaxon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and served as President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors.
